New Brunswick remains on the northern fringe of what is considered to be a suitable grape growing climate. In terms of latitude, New Brunswick shares the same line with much of France, particularly the Lyon area.

The regions that lay closer to the Bay of Fundy and the Northumberland Strait benefit from the ocean's effect, particularly in moderating the sub zero (C) winter temperatures.

Global warming is making grape growing an increasingly viable prospect. Combining this with the ongoing development of winter hardy vines, we may be on the verge of a burgeoning industry.
